Product Description
The Da Vinci Mini Annabelle Crib is a full standard crib in a smaller scale, a wonderful solution for new parents with small spaces. Parents love the 4 height adjustments which help the crib grow with baby. The practical Shaker style is a great design that blends so well with many other styles and looks fantastic in any nursery or bedroom. What makes this crib even more special is that is converts into a twin bed when a crib is no longer needed and comes with a guard rail, the crib sides can also become head and foot boards for a full size bed. The guard rail is included but the conversion rail kit is sold separately. The Da Vinci Annabelle Mini Crib comes with a 1 inch thick mattress, but a three inch thick pad is also available (which is sold separately).

4 out of 5 stars Great crib but beware of MDF & vinyl/foam mattress   January 22, 2010

We have been using this crib for 5 months now with our 13-month old. It's very sturdy and attractive and unbeatable for the price. I would recommend it to anyone who is tight on space (even those who are not). However, for those parents concerned about the potential hazards of off-gassing particleboard, phthalates, and brominated fire-retardants, you should know that the platform on which the mattress rests is made of MDF (medium density fiberboard) which off-gases urea-formaldehyde for the life of the product. Easy to fix with a couple of pine boards from a hardware store. Also the mattress they provide is not great if you're concerned about these things - it's foam wrapped in vinyl - almost certainly loaded with phthalates and fire-retardants. If you're looking for an excellent organic mattress that fits this crib perfectly, check out the Naturepedic Organic Cotton Portacrib Mattress.

5 out of 5 stars Great for small spaces   October 8, 2009

This turned out to be a beautiful crib. I like the stylish clean lines and the color (we bought white). It served our purpose very well, as we had a very small space in which to keep a crib. It came with a thin mattress, though we also bought a 3" mattress to go in it instead. The crib could be easily moved through doorways, as it is narrow enough and light enough. The wood is pine, as are all cribs by this maker, so it does dent relatively easily. I did end up buying a teething product for the rails, as when my baby grew teeth she left teeth marks in the rail. When researching a mini crib, I was unsure of how long my baby would be able to fit in it. At 13 months, we bought a regular size crib for her. She had just a little room left in the length, and she often clunked her head on the sides when rolling around. Luckily we have the room now for a regular size crib. Overall, this crib has been a fantastic purchase.

5 out of 5 stars Great Mini-Crib, sturdy and easy to put together   April 15, 2009

I bought this mini crib for my 6 month old who didn't like his Graco bassinet. This crib is perfect in our bedroom and the only drawback is the flimsy mattress that comes with it and the lack of bedding for this size of crib. My son loves it and slept through the night the first time we placed him there. Highly recommended for small spaces. The vendor was responsive to my calls in regards to the tracking and status of the shipment. When the crib arrived in our home, it was very well wrapped and all pieces were intact.

4 out of 5 stars Thumbs up on the Annabelle   March 8, 2009

This crib is a nice fit for our teeny house in Seattle. It is very sturdy and looks great in the room. The 1" thick plastic covered foam mattress that comes with the crib is very flimsy, so we ended up buying a better one. We didn't think the crib was hard to put together at all (then again, my husband is an engineer and he likes building things).

I would also caution that buying bedding for a mini crib is a bit of a pain--- there's not that much decent quality stuff out there. Avoid Gerber, it will fall apart on you. We had the best luck with Carousel ([...]). It's a little more expensive but it will last much longer and comes in great colors.

3 out of 5 stars Beautiful, but a pain to put together   February 9, 2009

My husband is in the midst of putting this crib together. It is a good size and since we live in a TINY NY one bedroom it's a good fit...however it is a pain to put together. The directions are a bit unclear and since the crib is black, and the holes are black and the slats are kind of narrow, it's a bit of a chore. BUT, it's great for the price and is well made. One other note is that the directions do not say anything about converting to a twin bed, although that is possible...
